A precedent-setting design for the Atlanta Planning Department for navigating transitional height planes, Juniper & 5th (J5) façade features a rhythmic sequence of solid and void. The central design move comes from the open boxes shifting in the volume of the façade, they converge on the prominent corners to create the iconic “zippered” double cantilever. The ziggurat form of the building’s rear façade creates spacious residences with expansive private roof terraces. Amenities include two elevated landscaped courtyards; pool/club room/fitness center; and rooftop club room with a large deck overlooking the skyline. Landscaped outdoor areas are enhanced with arbors and built-in planters. This six-story building fit neatly within a tight site to hide it's structured parking at the base, and contribute to the urban walkability of South Midtown.
As Project Executive, Anne Michael led the design team through initial design to construction of the project and was the main client contact from concept through completion.
